During the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, I completed a personal garden project in Minecraft, inspired by Yuan Ye (《园冶》) by the Ming Dynasty garden designer Ji Cheng. This small-scale classical garden features pavilions, towers, water pools, bridges, and carefully arranged plants. I followed the principles outlined in Yuan Ye, paying close attention to the flow of water, the spatial arrangement of buildings, and naturalistic layering of terrain. Gentle elevations, small hills, winding paths, and varying depths create a harmonious environment that captures the charm of Ming-style gardens, where every architectural element and natural feature is thoughtfully placed.

The project has also resonated well with viewers online. As of September 14 2025 , the showcase video received 1,176 views, with 96% of viewers being new visitors, highlighting its broad appeal. Engagement metrics indicate strong audience interest: low early drop-off, high interaction rates, and above-average fan conversion. The average watch progress was 1 minute 17 seconds, representing 30.6% of the video’s total length, showing solid retention.

Overall, this project reflects my ability to combine cultural heritage with digital design, creating visually engaging and immersive spaces, while also effectively reaching and engaging a wide audience.
